Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church

Seeking? We’re open! Covid-cautious Loving life

You are always welcome to Mt Comfort Church where Presbyterians first worshiped under a brush arbor in the early 1800s, provided a way station for Indian Nations on the Trail of Tears (1830s) and a hospital for Civil War soldiers (1860s)…and now:

Every Sunday, 11 a.m.: we explore how we find Jesus in what MLK, Jr called the "Beloved Community" where there are no enemies, only neighbors. Dress is casual, sit where you find a seat, latecomers are never locked out. We praise, confess, give thanks, offer gifts of self, & commit ourselves anew through a few lovely hymns, heartfelt prayers both silent & in community, with Communion for all who wish to come.

January 9, Baptism of the Lord Day: and we’ll have 2 baptisms! Come share the joy of the sign & seal of what God is doing in creating community. Potluck immediately following.

February 13, “Camp Sunday”: Come learn about Ferncliff, our fabulous camp just outside of Little Rock! Check our FB page for links & info about Ferncliff.

March 2, Ash Wednesday: Whether its “Ashes to Go” or evening Vespers (or both) we will observe this time of repentance. Check this web & our FB page.

April 17, Resurrection of the Lord Day—Easter! We invite you to join our joyful celebration. Details to come!

Sunday Suppers: 3 pm every 1st Sunday at Trinity Methodist, 1021 Sycamore. We join with other churches to help serve those in need. With greater food insecurity these days, Trinity’s food bank needs funds: write a check for our offering plate, put “Trinity UMC Food Bank” on memo line.

Second Sunday: Potluck at noon. Bring a favorite casserole, veggie, meat, dessert or bread (store-bought or homemade or just come eat- there's always more than enough). Invite those who need a family meal!

Mt. Comfort Garden is in its seasonal rest. Call the church or check the webpage at the first sign of spring: the Garden Team welcomes help! Over 4,000 lbs of fresh produce given in 2021 to Banford House (Mt Comfort Church of Christ’s food pantry) and other community meals.
